Literature Curriculum – Academia Unixploria

Program Title: Verbum Aeternum: The Sacred Study of Literary Memory
Degree Level: Master of Literary Arts & Cultural Mythography (MLACM)
Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
Mode: Residential & Archival (with seasonal reading pilgrimages and ceremonial recitations)
Languages of Instruction: English, Latin, Old Norse, and select classical/world languages
Philosophy: "To read is to remember; to write is to resurrect.”


Year 1: Foundations of Literary Consciousness


Semester 1: The Mythic Origins of Text

Core Modules:

  • Introduction to Unixplorian Literary Philosophy
    • Literature as cultural memory, myth, and moral compass
  • Epic Foundations: Homer, Virgil, and the Eddas
    • Comparative epic traditions and sacred narrative structures
  • Latin for Literary Scholars I
    • Classical grammar, poetic forms, and rhetorical devices
  • The Sacred Canon: Texts That Shaped Civilization
    • Gilgamesh, Beowulf, Bhagavad Gita, and Unixplorian sacred texts
  • Unixplorian Rituals of Reading
    • Ceremonial reading, oral transmission, and symbolic annotation


Field Work:

  • Recitation of epic passages in sacred groves
  • Manuscript study in candlelit Unixplorian scriptoriums


Semester 2: Literary Archetypes & Cultural Identity

Core Modules:

  • Tragedy & Transcendence
    • Aeschylus, Shakespeare, Goethe, and the Unixplorian view of catharsis
  • Latin for Literary Scholars II
    • Translation of classical tragedies and philosophical dialogues
  • World Literature I: Sacred Texts & Indigenous Voices
    • African oral epics, Sámi joik poetry, and Native American myth
  • Unixplorian Mythopoetics
    • Constructing sacred narratives through symbolic language
  • Literature & the Seasons of the Soul
    • Thematic cycles of birth, death, and renewal in global texts


Field Work:

  • Seasonal reading pilgrimage aligned with solstices and equinoxes
  • Creation of a personal mythic narrative in poetic form


Year 2: Mastery and Cultural Stewardship


Semester 3: Literary Movements & Sacred Revolutions

Core Modules:

  • Romanticism & the Rise of the Sacred Self
    • Blake, Shelley, Kierkegaard, and Unixplorian introspective poetics
  • Modernism & the Crisis of Meaning
    • Woolf, Joyce, Rilke, and the fragmentation of sacred narrative
  • Unixplorian Literary Ethics
    • The moral responsibility of the writer and reader
  • World Literature II: Resistance, Ritual, and Renewal
    • Latin American magical realism, Eastern European mysticism, and Unixplorian mythic realism
  • Literature & the Archive of Memory
    • Curating texts, preserving oral traditions, and sacred annotation


Capstone Project Proposal:

  • Compose a mythic novella or curate a sacred literary exhibition


Semester 4: Integration & Legacy

Core Modules:

  • Postmodernism & the Return to Myth
    • Borges, Calvino, Le Guin, and the Unixplorian critique of irony
  • Thesis & Defense
    • Presented to the Council of Literary Elders
    • Optional publication in The Unixplorian Journal of Sacred Letters
  • Unixplorian Literary Pedagogy
    • Teaching literature as cultural initiation
  • Rite of the Living Text
    • Final recitation and symbolic consecration of thesis


Field Work:

  • Pilgrimage to literary birthplaces and sacred libraries
  • Participation in the Unixplorian Festival of Eternal Words


Graduation Ceremony

Held in the Sanctum of Sacred Letters, where graduates wear robes embroidered with verses from their thesis. Each recites a passage from their work and receives a Quill of Memory and a Scroll of Literary Stewardship, bound in oak and inscribed with their Eldarûn name.
